Reading Sessions and Workshops across the province
There are store-sponsored Reading Sessions offered across the province. Get out, listen to new and old materials, and connect with your peers!
For dates and times, connect with our Facebook page for details! They will be posted throughout the summer.
Also, if you hear of one that hasn’t been mentioned, feel free to post the event!
What are you playing?
The ABA and the CBA are curious to know what Alberta Band Directors are playing at concerts, Festivals and on the road! It’s simple; all you have to do is take a photo of your concert program and post it on our Facebook page or tweet it to @AlbertaBandFeed.
It would be great to see what your colleagues are playing and perhaps generate some ideas for your own band!
Include a picture of your Band too if you like! Call it the ‘Alberta Repertoire Research.’
Volunteers needed to help run the registration table at MCA
Would you like to help out at Music Conference Alberta by assisting the Registration Table at the start of conference?
Simply drop us an email or direct a message to Neil Corlett or Kyle Swenson through social media. We would appreciate seeing some old friends and new faces come out to help the MCA registration.
Meet Board Member Lindsey Coulter
|
Lindsey Coulter became a Board member of the Alberta Band Association in 2014. In her seven-year career she has taught band, choir and jazz band at the high school and junior high levels in the communities of North Edmonton, where she has been for the past six years. |
Her program in Queen Elizabeth High School and Major General Griesbach School currently consists of approximately 90 musicians ranging from Concert Band, Choir, and Jazz Band. She also is involved in the New Edmonton Wind Sinfonia and is a regular saxophone clinician for beginner musicians.
Since Lindsey has joined the Alberta Band Association Board of Directors, she has been active in the ABA by running or assisting with the Junior High Honour Band, High School Honour Band and Jump Start program.
Outside of music, Lindsey enjoys playing and walking her two dogs, Brinkley and Dakota. She is getting married this summer to her fiance, Randy, who is an engineer. Lindsey enjoys snowboarding during the winter and just being outdoors in the summer.
She is very excited to be a member of the ABA and to help support Band Education in Alberta! The ABA is pleased to have Lindsey and her enthusiasm help run the board. She, along with all board members, would like to wish you a relaxing summer and strong start to your local band programs in the upcoming school year.
